·         The purpose of this group activity is to find out what factors create a classroom where learning takes place.  In your group, discuss each of the following questions and write your answers on a separate piece of paper.

1.        What are two or three of the ways that you learn best?  Do you learn through writing, reading, seeing, or doing?   Why?  If there are more than three ways in your group, list them all along with the number of people who prefer each one and a reason for each.



2.        What type of classroom environment makes you learn the best?  Why?


3.       What type of teacher attitudes and behavior creates the best climate for learning?  Why?


4.        What student behaviors disrupt the learning environment the most?   Why do you think students tend to be disruptive?  How should these students be held accountable for their actions?


5.        How does the use of cell phones or listening devices help the learning environment and how does their use hurt?  Are there times when use is inappropriate?  When?  Are there times when use is appropriate?  When?


6.        What are three or four of a student’s main responsibilities towards learning?  What are two or three of a teacher’s main responsibilities?  Why?
